Blooms for Bothwell

Because everyone deserves a little more kindness,
and a lot more flowers.

Together, we have grown more than flowers.

Thanks to your kindness,

$275.00

has been raised so far to help sow seeds of care for our community.

“Wait… if you grow all these flowers, why are you just giving them away?”

Most of the dahlias here are grown for their tubers, not just the flowers. The goal is to grow strong plants that can be divided and replanted each season. But to keep those plants healthy and producing good tubers, the blooms need to be cut regularly.

The side effect of that is… a lot of flowers.

More than our kitchen table, porch, and every spare mason jar in the house can reasonably handle. So instead of letting them fade away in the garden, many of those blooms make their way to the Community Stand for others to enjoy.

Where Your Kindness Goes

Each bouquet, each dollar, and each kind gesture adds up to something much bigger. With your support, we’re able to give back in meaningful ways, bringing joy, relief, and connection to those who need it most. Below are just a few of the ways your generosity is helping us nurture not just flowers, but the heart of our community.

Bouquets for Seniors

We deliver fresh flower bouquets to local retirement residences and seniors in our community. It’s a simple way to brighten someone’s day, spark a conversation, and remind our elders that they’re still deeply appreciated.

Backpacks for Kids

Each fall we hope to help local kids start the school year with confidence by providing backpacks filled with essentials. Sometimes a small act of support can make a big difference in how a child begins their year.

Team Sponsorships

We love supporting local sports teams and community clubs whenever we can. It’s our way of cheering from the sidelines and helping young athletes feel seen, supported, and encouraged.

Seeds of Love

Throughout the season we may give away free seed packets to anyone who wants to grow something of their own. No big garden required. Just a little soil, a little patience, and a little joy.

Toy Drives

During the holidays we purchase and collect toys and gifts for local families who may need a little extra support that year. Every child deserves a little magic under the tree.

Emergency Kindness

Life throws curveballs. This small fund helps with unexpected needs, things like gas to get to a job interview, work boots for a new job, or diapers during a tough week. Quiet help, offered with dignity.

Plant Exchange

Our “Take a Plant, Leave a Plant” shelf at the stand lets anyone share cuttings, seedlings, or extra plants. No pressure, no rules, just a little community joy for plant lovers.

Community Herb Garden

We’re creating a small herb garden where visitors can snip what they need for dinner. Fresh herbs, freely shared, because sometimes the smallest things make a meal, and a day, a little better.

Ways to Support What We’re Growing

This little homestead is built on community. Every bit of support, whether it’s participating, encouraging, or simply sharing what we’re doing with others, helps us keep growing and finding new ways to give back.

The Community Stand

Our Community Stand sits at the end of the driveway and is open during posted hours. You’ll often find fresh flowers, plants, and seasonal items grown right here on the homestead. The stand runs on a simple donation-based honor system, take what you’d like and contribute what you feel is fair.

Online Store

Our online store lets you reserve plants, flowers, and seasonal items ahead of time for pickup or local delivery. It’s the easiest way to see what’s currently available and plan your visit to the homestead.

If you’d like to support what we’re growing but don’t need anything from the stand or shop today, you can donate directly here.

Please Note: All community support initiatives are funded through the generosity of our donors and customers. While we aim to help wherever we can, the availability of assistance depends on current funds available and may be limited at times. Each request is thoughtfully reviewed, and while we wish we could say yes to everyone, not all applications can be approved. Our goal is to offer meaningful support where it’s most needed, with fairness, compassion, and care.
